I'm Jaycee. I've always lived in the Midwest, and despite the cold winters, most days I can't imagine living anywhere else. There's nothing in the world like the summer in Michigan, where I'd love to spend most of my time when I'm not living just outside Chicago. I'd like to think I'm a glamorous girly-girl, but lately most days I'm in my comfy clothes playing with my bambino with my hair in a ponytail. I do, however, love any occasion to wear a gorgeous dress and any excuse to buy new shoes. I like to think I'm tough but sweet, stubborn but understanding, compassionate, kind and a good friend, but very often I'm a bit on the flighty, scatter-brained side.
I'm married to an unfailingly unselfish man who I know adores me (and the feeling is mutual). He's my best friend. Together we have one darling, bundle of joy, our little guy, our bambino, our Elias whom we call Eli. We've both been adopted by the old man of the house, our 14 year-old cocker spaniel, Riley. My family and my God are by far the most important features of my life, and I'll probably write a lot about them.
I am starting this blog because reading blogs has become one of my favorite pastimes. I love connecting with people across the country via their stories, projects, adventures and children, and I just couldn't resist joining this community. I'm not totally sure what I'll be sharing in this space, but I realize now with the blessing of the little guy in my life, that life's moments are truly so fleeting and even the heartbreaking ones possess something splendid.
